How I Discovered my Life's Purpose and You Can Too | Living Your Life Through Your Passion.

...OR How my Hubby helped me change my life.

A couple of weeks back, I shared with you, the 3 Life Hacks, my 21/2 year old, son has taught me and how I believe that Alex, is my positivity superstar!  But, when it comes to finding my passion and living my life through it, no one had a stronger influence on me, than my husband.

Let me tell you something about my hubby.

He is my Yoda.
My Mentor.
My Inspiration.

My husband is MY personal Cheerleader and Encourager.

Do you know that cheesy moment in romantic comedies, where boy meets girl and their eyes lock for the first time and then, Boom!? Well, that's how it was between me and Stelios.  When I first met him, I fell for him, head over heels. No questions asked. I mean, he was sooo sexy, smart and with a mindset and attitude that fascinated me. My kind of guy, hands down.

Little did I know, that in less than a year, this gorgeous, enigmatic guy and his flaming passion about life, would magically ignite an endless stream of life changes, that have brought me right where I am; building a business around my passion and sharing my ideals and insights with the world.

You see Stelios, is one of the lucky ones. He discovered his love for "Creating Things", or as I like to call it, his "Element", at a really young age, which in return allowed him to begin working towards becoming an Architect, early on in life.  And it really doesn't get any better than that, trust me.

Even when I first met him, a few month before getting his Masters in Architecture, he had an unstoppable vision, about his life, that everyone around him could actually feel, because he was living and breathing it.

And today, more than 8 years later, his face still lights up with joy, every time he talks about one of his projects. When he pitches a design idea to a prospective client, you find yourself captivated by the expression in his voice, the volume changes, his hand gestures and facial expressions.

There is no doubt about it. Once you start living your life through your passion, every day is an adventure. A never ending St. Patrick's day.
Life Coaching Quote by TakeTen

So, there I was, a silent witness to a wonderful demonstration of passion, day after day.

At the time, I was still working in Marketing and since I was so good at it, I have silently assumed that it was also something I was personally passionate about. But I wasn't. And I knew I wasn't because my idea of a Happy Life, did not include working AT ALL. My vision was more or less somewhere in the lines of spending my fantasy lottery money on shoes and houses on the beach (oh, the beach... is it summer already?). But work? No, sir. Not for me.

And there he was, my constant reminder that work can be a great way of expressing your genuine self. That living your passion in not an urban myth. That waking up each morning absolutely intoxicated by the very idea of going to work, is actually something people do. And that's when I admitted (if only to myself) that I wanted to begin my very own, crucial search for my passion.

To be honest, even today, I am not sure, that I would have managed to find myself pleasantly lost in living my own life, if it were not for Stelios, my personal cheerleader and encourager.

Whenever I felt lost, thinking that maybe not all us are born with a definite purpose or with a talent so unique they just had to share it with the world, he was there to remind me that everyone has a passion or a special talent and that you just have to pay close attention in order to discover what that is.

His own flaming passion about his job, inspired me to think bigger and to push harder. So, while still having a full time job and later a baby, I was encouraged to go out there and try to find my passion, by exposing myself to different things, that felt like a good match for me. I tried anything from yoga teaching, to meditation instructing, to freelance online marketing, to kids book writer, to reiki practitioner and the list goes on and on...

And then one day, it just came to me. I looked him in the eyes and told him I wanted to become a Life Coach. Without even blinking, Stelios said "Baby, I believe you would make a wonderful Life Coach. That's brilliant!"  And he meant it. The rest is history.

So, if you are anything like me, five year ago, with an overwhelming desire to find you passion, but with no actual idea, where to begin, I would strongly suggest, the following:

  1. Find a mentor or a Coach. It can be a wise friend or a family member. Someone whose enthusiasm and zest for life, inspire you. A trusting soul that will be there for you, every step of the way.
  2. Ask yourself questions. Ask endless streams of powerful questions, such as "what would I do if I had $200.000.000 in the bank?" or "what would I do If I knew I couldn't fail?" or even "How would I like to be remembered?"
  3. Take massive action. Try as many things as possible, until you can determine what you enjoy doing the most.
  4. Do not be discouraged by the current lack of resources, tools or even practical skills. That's simply logistics. Focus on identifying your passion. You will deal with the logistics later.
  5. Ok, so you think you have found it. How do you know if this is the real deal? Your passion should inspire you to take risks, to jump over hurdles and break through walls and until you feel like that about anything, you haven't found your passion.
  6. Once you have found your passion, devote yourself wholeheartedly to it. Never doubt. Never Fear. Never Give up.
I am so grateful to my hubby, for inspiring me to pursue my passion.  I am also grateful to be able to do the same for others.

So, if you need someone to provide you with inspiration, guidance, motivation and simplyfied action plans, to fit all the pieces of a passionate life together, I am here for you.

Who is you personal cheerleader and encourager?

Keep walking...

Hi Nichole,
I could not agree more with you on trying lots of different things out, in order to find your passion. Most of us get trapped and afraid of change. But life is all about change and finding your passion. I can also tell you and Stelio are a great match.
Here is to having fun and finding our passion.
xoxo

Hello Denise!
You are absolutely right. Life without passion can be kind of, well, boring! Sometimes we get intimidated by change or trying something new, I know I did at the beginning, but for me that was the only way out, of what looked like an endless tunnel. Thank you for your input. Much Love

Nichole you are so lucky to have such an amazing connection with your husband. Again I enjoyed your post and I have something to add. Start now. Your passionate life you want is not hidden in the future. It's here and now. "Someday" never comes. If you want to find your passion, dont wait for the perfect moment. Do it now.

If anybody wants to be satisfied, jocular, unworried, and encounter inner quietness and ultimate completion, it's absolutely vital that he should learn how to unearth his life's passion and purpose. I think without a life ambition, the wish and the working strategies of an individual may not satisfy him in the long run. In this regard, I would like to tell that by exploring two things in life-1)What you actually to do?, and 2)What comes effortlessly to you?, asking yourself about the quirks that you love manifesting the most in the world, and creating a purpose statement for your life you can live your life through your passion.
