"That's it, I'm tired, stressed out and in desperate need of a break."
Yeah, that's me, alright, at least that's how I felt a couple of nights ago, when exchusted by my super woman "juggling act" of having everything under control, I finally admited to myself the ugly truth, I am only human!
I was tired and needed to take things slow. I knew deep inside that all I needed was some time to nourish my body and spirit. Somehow, between managing an architectural office, a household and setting up a new online business, I forgot the one thing that automatically makes me feel calm, happy, secure and relaxed.
Meditation.
And so I took ten. Ten minutes to relax my body and quiet my mind. No soothing music playing on the background, no scented candles burning, nothing. I just sat there, in my room, eyes closed, taking long deep breaths, for ten minutes.
These ten minutes, spent in peace, made me realise, once again, how important it is for the mind to just rest. I mean, think about it. Every single minute of our lives, even while sleeping, our mind is busy, busy, busy. It needs a break. You, need a break.
But, hey, don't just take my word for it, here is one of my favorite TED speeches on cultivating the habit of happiness by Matthieu Ricard, a biochemist Buddhist monk!

So, even if you don't have a lot of time to practice meditation, why not try a couple of mini five-minute sessions. You can do your "mini meditations" almost anywhere; all you have to do is close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and relax. Simple right?
Are you using meditation as a tool to relieve yourself from daily stress? What's your experience with meditation?
Do, tell.
Much Love,
